This photo was taken with my new D600 while I took a photog half day session in Aruba. The instructor taught me how to find interesting images in much larger (busier) areas. The focus for this photo was on the shadow from the coloured gecko.
I love this pic of Aruba's endangered burrowing owls. They are almost impossible to spot (the photographer is a rare local who knows were to look). I used his telephoto lens, as even my 300mm would not have been able to get this close. The owls are about the size of a human hand and our jeep was parked a few hundred meters away.
This shot was taken using my tripod and a sunset camera setting. I liked this one in particular, as it is rare to see the sky still so blue once the sun is this low. The normal result for this type of photo is a yellow sky. I also love the pic because this was a wonderful group of yogis supporting each other even though we were all strangers when we arrived in Aruba.
I think that this is a cool shot because of the shadows on the water and the mist in the backdrop. It was taken in Cheticamp (Cape Breton) which is my grandpa Chiasson's home town. I also love the image as it shows how easily my children can love a creature (even if we ate him shortly after this photo was taken!)
Cheticamp, Cape Breton Island.
This photo was taken in St Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia. My daughter Sadie was hunting for crabs (she is holding a net) and it was so natural as she pushes her ocean salt-dried hair away from her face. The colours of the bathing suit make it even prettier.
This photo was taken in "Froggieland" at my friend's cottage on Mosque Lake. Cash was keen to kayak (like his nanny) so we ventured out at the first sign of rain slowing. I was happy with how my camera lens functioned even in the damp weather.
